Smith + Tracey Architects is a collective team set across three offices focused on creating environments that enhance the relationship between people and their surroundings.
There is often a disconnect between the architectural design of aged care residences and the technology required to operate them.
Smith + Tracey Architects and Intech3 are experts in the field of residential aged care based on their partnership in helping develop several residential villages. The key component in ensuring successful outcomes are achieved is collaboration. Ensuring all parties work together from the initial design concept phase to ensure technology is integrated into the design of residential aged care and the retirement living sectors is paramount.
Technology is such an important enabler, allowing communication and connectivity to occur between the outside world and the elderly residents in order to have interactions with loved ones. With these considerations front of mind from the outset, the architectural vision can be realised while ensuring all functions such as clinical management, medication management, back of house operations, nurse call systems, telephony, CCTV and building management are planned, installed and maintained as required.
